Office of the Child and Youth Advocate commemorates 25 years of serving Alberta’s vulnerable children and youth
Twenty-five years ago, the Office of the Children’s Advocate was created to speak to systemic issues affecting children in the child welfare system, to review and investigate complaints, and to represent the rights, interests and viewpoints of children.
Today, as an independent office of the Legislature, with a new name and an expanded mandate, the Office’s mission of supporting Alberta’s vulnerable children and youth has not wavered, and has in fact strengthened.
