CCCYA Calls for More Decisive Action
The Canadian Council of Child and Youth Advocates (CCCYA) have issued a press release regarding the Council of Federations (which is a Council of all Premiers in Canada) recent discussions about the over-representation of Aboriginal children involved with Child Welfare.
The CCCYA is calling for more decisive action on the part of Premiers to address the over-representation concerns. We believe there are more concrete steps the Council of Federations can take and in fact, they have a responsibility to move forward. We make reference to communications from the CCCYA to the Council of Federations in August and November 2014 outlining specific actions we called on the Federation to take.
